How to commission a portrait
Commissioning a portrait is a sublime way to honour the lives of our beloved four -or more- legged companions. Using professional quality archival materials The Curate’s Egg will hand draw your pets from your photos, paying particular care and attention to every detail to produce a unique piece of artwork that you can cherish and enjoy for many years to come.
Here’s how it works:
✅ Get in touch with me via email, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or the Contact form below.
✅ We will chat about your requirements and I will get you to send me some clear, focused and well lit photos of your pet. We will discuss them together to pick out the best ones to base your portrait on.
✅ I will provide you with the total cost of your portrait and a rough time scale.
✅ Once everything is mutually agreed, a booking fee of 30% will be required. This payment is non-refundable except in the unfortunate event that I have to cancel your booking for personal reasons. The balance is due on completion of your portrait. I accept PayPal and bank transfers and am happy to take instalments.
✅ Art happens!
✅ When your portrait is complete I will email you photos to approve.
✅ Once I receive your approval I will send you the final invoice for payment. On receipt of full payment you are welcome to collect your wrapped portrait or I will package it and send it to you. UK delivery is included in the cost of your portrait. EU and Worldwide shipping will be an additional cost and the client will be responsible for all import duties and taxes.
✅ I do not frame any of my work. I prefer to let you choose your own frame at your leisure. Smaller pieces will be presented in a high quality white Passé-partout that can be popped straight into a standard frame or changed as you prefer.
✅ Please note, if a back ground is required, there will be an additional charge based on complexity.
